Iddrisu’s Story in Photos

2015/11/15 By GRID

Photojournalist Erika Jensen, volunteer member of 2015 Ghana Health Team, captured Iddrisu’s story in photos.

Yaara, November 13: Iddrisu, a 5 year old child from the Fulani tribe, was our first patient in the nursing station.

We thank God that we were in that village on that moment of that day to save this little life. I don’t tell this story to pat ourselves on the back. We just did what we would have done in any emergency room back home. I tell it to remind us and remind our supporters that this region needs a hospital. We must help them. — Dr. Jennifer Wilson

I’m sharing your stories with my high school classes as they find your actions are motivating and inspirational.
Know that the power of your caring is reaching many.

I see the knitted doll Jean Gould made, beside this little boy. She will be so happy to know she contributed to his recovery. Again the reports of the work you are doing fill me with gratitude, and longing to be with the team doing this essential care of the sick. Matthew 25 : 35- 40., however I with you in spirit, and pray for your health during these busy days. Stay well my friends!

As I read the amazing words and see the beautiful pictures of what God is doing there through your team, I’m in awe! You are truly a wonderful example of being Jesus’ hands and feet in our world! I thank God for the skills he has given each of you for such a time as this and am reminded that we all have a job to do for Him each day, even here at home.
