Each year a medical/surgical/dental and eye team travels to Northern Ghana to offer clinics to 9000 patients who cannot afford medical care. Dr. Jennifer Wilson, a physician and board member of GRID, leads this amazing team of volunteers.

Can I apply?
This team opportunity is a popular one, and we frequently have more applications than we can accommodate. If you are a health professional or medical student, we encourage you to apply as early as possible. If you are not a health professional, we recommend that you consider applying for a different team.
How many people are included on the team?
Our partner in Ghana, NEA, can accommodate a maximum team size of 60 people.
Who reviews the applications and selects the team members?
Once applications are received, they are checked for completeness and forwarded to the respective clinical program leaders. Each program leader reviews the skill sets of applicants and makes recommendations to the Health Team Leader, Dr. Jennifer Wilson. Dr. Wilson compiles a proposed list of names and sends them to GRID/NEA for review and confirmation before announcing team members.
How do people get selected to be a part of the team?
We build each team based on the critical health needs that NEA has identified. We start by determining the number of physicians available and needed, which enables us to then assess how many nurses, pharmacists and other personnel are needed. Spaces for dentists and eye specialists are also reserved.
I have more questions. Who can I contact?
