BOARD MEMBER, GRID CANADA
Dr. Charles Peniston, MD, CM, FRCSC, FACS, DTMH, is a cardiovascular surgeon with 33 years of experience. This year, he earned the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of Glasgow. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Peniston serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto and is a committed elder at St. Paul’s Leaskdale Presbyterian Church.
Since 2009, Dr. Peniston has been dedicated to medical missions in Northern Ghana, collaborating with local healthcare professionals and volunteers. He is a founding member of Ghana Health Partners, an organization focused on building consulting, teaching, and service partnerships with Leyaata Hospital. In 2023, he joined the Board of Directors for GRID, furthering his commitment to global health.
Dr. Peniston is married to Sandra Peniston. Together, they have four children and two grandchildren.
