Board Members
Kathryn Bayless, Chair
Born and raised in West Virginia, Kathy Bayless has spent her adult life in Indiana. She holds a BS in Physical Education and Speech and an MS in Recreational Sport Management. Over the past 41 years, she has worked for Indiana University in Campus Recreational Sports as an Assistant Director, Associate Director, and as Executive Director and Assistant Dean in the School of Public Health since 1992.
She has also served in a variety of church leadership capacities, including membership on the Board of Deacons, Missions Committee, Choir and Worship Band as well as a volunteer in the nursery.
Kathy, and her husband Tim, have been associated with GRID and NEA since 1987. They have both been to Ghana and hope to return again soon. Kathy has been an observer for GRID’s board since 2009 and currently serves as Secretary for GRID, Canada and as President for GRID, USA.
Jacques Lapointe
Born in Ottawa, Canada, Jacques Lapointe received a Bachelor of Commerce as well as an MBA (Finance) from Concordia University in Montreal. He also completed an EPBA at Columbia University in New York.
Mr. Lapointe’s business career in pharmaceuticals and biotech spanned over 35 years with companies which included Johnson & Johnson, GSK, and Biochem Pharma, where he held a number of senior executive and global responsibilities. He was also a Director and Chairman of a number of public and private health industry corporations in the USA and Canada, as well as a number of charities and non-profits organizations. Today he is co-owner of several private companies and is Chairman of Teen Challenge Canada Inc. as well as The Makbraneth Foundation, a private Canadian foundation.
Jacques has been on the board of GRID Canada since 1999 and was appointed Chairman in 2009. He and his wife Brigitte now live in the Toronto area and travel to Ghana regularly.
Douglas Webster, Ph.D.
Doug teaches pastoral theology and preaching at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama. He pastored First Presbyterian Church of San Diego for fourteen years. He has served churches in Denver, Colorado, Bloomington, Indiana, and Toronto, Canada. Before becoming a pastor, he taught at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto for seven years. He has a BA in Biblical Studies and an MA in New Testament from Wheaton College. His PhD is from the University of St. Michael’s College, Toronto.
Doug has also served on the pastoral team at Central Presbyterian Church in New York City. For the past thirty five years Doug and Virginia have been in ministry with David and Brenda Mensah in northern Ghana. He has been associated with the Canadian board as well as GRID USA.
