What We Believe

GRID Statement of Faith

We believe in one Lord, who is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus is God’s one and only Son, truly God and truly man. And that Jesus’ atoning substitutionary sacrifice on the cross is, by God’s will and redemptive provision, essential for the salvation of all people who believe. Our hope in life or death is in our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We believe that we are justified by faith alone in Jesus Christ. By God’s grace, Christ’s righteousness is imputed to all who turn to Christ through faith.

We believe in humanity’s deep need for a holistic gospel that addresses their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, in the name of Jesus, to the glory of the Father, through the power of the Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is God’s special revelation to all people and is completely trustworthy and fully authoritative in all matters it addresses. Our desire is not only to affirm a doctrine of Scripture, but to live under the authority of God’s revealed Word, by the grace of God.

We believe that by God’s grace we have been set free to obey the will of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit. We understand our need for forgiveness and the power of God’s grace to lead us forward in faithfulness and obedience. We believe we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.

We believe that the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit is manifest in the full range of gifts described in the New Testament.

We believe we are called to proclaim the gospel to everyone, everywhere. Our goal is to represent our Lord Jesus in the most authentic and fullest possible way and invite others to respond to Jesus’ invitation.

We believe in the universal Body of Christ and we seek to establish a faithful presence wherever God calls us.

We believe in a final, universal judgment, in which those who are in Christ will experience a new heaven and a new earth and those apart from Christ will be destined to hell. We accept the reality of heaven and hell and acknowledge our limitation in grasping the full magnitude of this truth.

We believe that God has called us to serve our neighbor who is neither a bodiless soul nor a soul-less body, but a body and soul in community.
